Alyah Horsford

Director of Asset Management

Ms. Horsford oversees the management of all properties owned and developed by Horsford & Poteat Realty and assist our development partners in formulating management strategies for their properties. Before forming Horsford & Poteat Realty, Ms. Horsford worked for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Ms. Horsford is currently on the board of the Banana Kelly, a leading not for profit housing provider in the Bronx. She attended the City University of New York.

Edward Poteat

Director of Real Estate Finance

Mr. Poteat is responsible for all building acquisitions, property development, underwriting, marketing, and the placement of bank and government financing, both construction and permanent. Mr. Poteat also manages HP Realty's joint development ventures with non-profit organizations and local building owners. He previously worked as a Mortgage Officer at Chase Community Development Corporation where he financed affordable housing projects.

Mr. Poteat is a member of 100 Black Men in New York City. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Urban Planning from Yale University. He is also a master's candidate in Urban Planning at Hunter College.

Robert Horsford

Director of Construction

Mr. Horsford is responsible for overseeing all construction activities of all Horsford & Poteat development projects. He coordinates scheduling with sub-contractors and supervises all project architects and engineers. Prior to forming Horsford & Poteat Realty, Mr. Horsford was a Project Manager on a $1.5 Billion global construction project for Bell Atlantic. In this capacity, he frequently traveled to Asia, Europe, and North Africa erecting telecommunication buildings. Prior to Bell Atlantic, Mr. Horsford worked as a Construction Manager for Gilbane Building Company, a general contracting firm located in Providence, RI. While at Gilbane, he focused primarily on the construction of the Providence Convention Center. Mr. Horsford has also successfully completed the City of New York, Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) "Management Alternatives to Abandonment Training Course" at the top of his class.

Mr. Horsford is an officer of the Greater Harlem Real Estate Board possesses a B.S. in Structural Civil Engineering and Business Management from Brown University.
